The public transport map of the global route networks of public and long-distance traffic is shown here.
The routes traveled and the approached stops are selectable by the user via checkboxes in any combination. Details will get visible by selecting this button and in dependance of the zoom level in the map.
You can see -among other things- the personal rail, represented by a red line, the rail lines (green), the bus lines (orange) and the ferry lines (blue). Furthermore, the stops and line numbers are visible after switching. Airports are drawn tight with a corresponding icon.
The POIs show a tooltip with the name of it, if it has been detected in OSM. Clicking on a POI to display more information.
All data from the PT card are from the OpenStreetMap project. The data is updated weekly as soon as an actual planet file at OSM is ready.
You can save map sections with the bookmark function of your browser. Here, the map section and all selected POIs and geometries are stored.
You can also easily copy and save the current browser line (URL). The link thus produced can be send to someone. After clicking on this Link the map will open then as you have set it with the switchable POIs.
Clicking the right mouse button on the map opens a context menu. From this menu, you can select an editor for OSM, where then the selected map section is opened for editing.
To edit you need a benevolent OSM account, you can create at any time for free.
By using the menu, it is also possible to display an aerial view of the current section.
